A stretch of 20 kilometers on the coast of Alagoas offers many surprises and little pieces of a rare paradise even for the Brazilian extensive coast. At the low tide, it is possible to walk or ride a bicycle from Barra do Rio Camaragibe to Rio Manguaba. São Miguel dos Milagres is located right at the beginning of the coast and right after that, you can find the Tabatinga river, habitat of many manatees. Many of them can be seen at the river that runs into the Patacho beach.
The tide here works as a clock for the people in the village, as from every 6h12 a new beach seems to be formed at the coast. At the low tide, many natural pools are formed and the sand is transformed in many paths to the sea – then, time runs and a new cycle begins.
